Introduction

Introduction to SSS Products which are distributed and installed through Energy Pivot, which are exclusively available from the manufacturer and a small number of selected business Associated Partners (AP’s).

These are:

  • SSS EnergyDock Range (UPS)
  • SSS Battery Range
  • SSS DC Range

The inverters used in the EnergyDock range is NRS 097-7-1 approved.

The AC distribution boxes offered conforms to SABS standards, IED 60947-2, VC 8036 with NRCS and RCC certification, i.e. circuit breakers, isolators, surge protection, etc.

SSS’s applied Small Scale Embedded Generation (SSEG) principles in the configuration design of their systems.

Our Standards

The Small Scale Embedded Generation (SSEG) is a regulated industry with documented and defined standards of application.  The list of defined standards that should be adhered to are:

    • NRS 097-1/2: Grid interconnection of Embedded Generation.
    • Municipal SSEG Standards or Regulations (determine the standards required by the Municipality in which area the installation is required).
    • Eskom SSEG application requirements as per their standard documentation.
    • SANS 10142/1 to 4: The wiring of premises (as amended and published).
    • NRS 048: Electricity Supply – Quality of Supply.
    • SANS 474 and NRS 057: Code of Practice for Electricity Metering.
    • SANS 62305-1: Protection against Lightning
    • Electricity Regulation Act, Act 4 of 2006 and Electricity Regulation Amendment Act, Act 28 of 2007.
    • Occupational Health and Safety Act, No 85 of 1995 as Amended.
    • South Africa Distribution Code (all parts).
    • South Africa Grid Code (all parts).
    • South Africa Renewable Power Plants Grid Code.
    • TNC-S Earthing: According to SANS 10142.

SSS EnergyDock Range

SSS EnergyDock Level 1

This unit is recommended for powering your laptop / desktop, charging
your cell phone, running lights, a TV, DSTV decoder and small appliances.
It is fitted with a Super Cycle battery. It has more than 300 cycles at 100%
depth of discharge (DoD) when discharged to 10.8V with 1 = 0.2C20,
followed by approximately two hours rest in discharge condition.

SSS EnergyDock Level 2

The primary use of this energy system is for an uninterrupted AC power
(UPS) function. In the event of grid failure, the inverter within the Victron
Energy MultiPlus Inverter/Charger 500VA is automatically activated
and takes over the energy supply to the connected loads. This happens
very quickly (20 milliseconds), enabling a computer and most sensitive
electronic equipment to safely continue to operate efficiently from the
unit’s internal battery without any disruption

SSS EnergyDock Level 3

The primary use of this energy system is for an uninterrupted AC power
(UPS) function. In the event of grid failure, the inverter within the Victron
Energy MultiPlus Inverter/Charger 1600VA is automatically activated
and takes over the energy supply to the connected loads. This happens
very quickly (20 milliseconds), enabling a computer and most sensitive
electronic equipment to safely continue to operate efficiently from the
unit’s internal battery without any electricity disruptions.

SSS EnergyDock Level 4

This Energy System utilizes the Victron Multiplus II inverter range. This NERSA approved unit is an inverter/charger with device networking built in. The Mulitplus II communicates with the solar charger, batteries and other devices to control a grid-connected system, off-grid system or a remote power installation capable of parallel operations, for increased power output or battery charge rates. The Multiplus II can also be configured for three phase energy supply. A host of advanced features – such as uninterrupted power supply, setting load limits and supplementing limited grid power availability with battery power – can also be controlled directly from your cell phone or smart device, making remote monitoring also possible.
